(Updated April 2016)
My current work has become an exercise in externalizing my anxiety.
Thoughts circle in the mind constantly. Mulling over certain moments gratuitously.
In my practice I am drawn to the repetitive nature of stitching.
Each pull of thread an action, a reaction, a breath, a moment.
One building to the next to create something larger that is aiming to express my ever changing self.
Through these processes, I strive to come to terms with the fact that some things are out of my control. I hope to create visceral experiences that allow others to identify with this sentiment; this vulnerability that we all wrestle with at times.
To take each moment for what it is.
To work along with it.
